Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to what people ask about Rafiq AI.

What is Rafiq AI?

Rafiq AI is an Islamic companion. You ask a question about the Quran, the hadith or everyday practice, and Rafiq answers from a library of the Quran, the hadith collections and the works of scholars, with the sources shown. It is part of Al Muslim.

Is Rafiq AI free?

Yes. There is nothing to pay and no account to create.

Is Rafiq accurate?

Rafiq answers from sources rather than from memory, and shows them, so an answer can be checked. It can still be wrong: a passage can be misread, or a ruling applied to a case it was not about. Read the sources, and report a wrong answer with the flag under it.

Can Rafiq give a fatwa?

No. An answer shows what the scholars said about a question. A ruling on your own situation, such as a divorce, an inheritance, a vow or a business deal, belongs with a qualified scholar who can hear the details.

Which scholars and books does Rafiq use?

The Quran, the six major hadith collections and the Muwatta, tafsir such as Ibn Kathir and al-Sa'di, the fatwas of Shaykh Ibn Baz, Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen and the Permanent Committee, and the works of scholars such as Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn al-Qayyim and al-Albani. The full description is on the How Rafiq Answers page.

Does Rafiq follow a madhhab?

Rafiq follows Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah. Where scholars differ, it gives the Hanbali and Athari position first and then names the other positions.

Can I ask in Arabic?

Yes. A question asked in Arabic is answered in Arabic, and you can set English or Arabic as your answer language in settings.

Can I choose how long an answer is?

Yes. The menu in the question box offers Quick, Regular and Detailed.

What is Dawah mode?

Dawah mode is for someone who is not Muslim, or who is looking into Islam. Rafiq asks what to call them and where they are coming from, then answers from Muslim writing and, where it can, from the reader's own scripture.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use Rafiq without signing in. Your chats are kept against a random id, not your name, and you can delete any chat from its menu.

What happens to my questions?

A question is sent to DeepSeek, the model that writes the reply, and the conversation is stored so you can open it again. Rafiq does not sell your questions or show you advertising. The details are on the Privacy page.
